7/24/04                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Some comments on our professional sports of today and what they seem to be showing our young people how society works for some but not all.

                         1. In all the professional leagues, it seems that signing a legal contract to perform a service for someone is meaningless. Athletes who sign these contracts expect the teams to abide and fulfill them. But when they (while under these contracts) decide it not enough they ignore them; one player this week didn't show up for work (even though he's being paid $14 million is contracted for one more year) What if you or I would try something similar at our place of employment? I guess this is something the powers that be want our young people to learn early on about the haves and have nots.

                          2. And we have these sports pundants who are telling these young baseballers that after all the effort and sacrifice they put in to get to the major leagues (Pitchers) that a no hitter is no longer an important event. I'm sure growing up and dreaming of the big leagues and pitching a no hitter has to be forgotten. By the way (for all you pundants)  there have been only 323 no-hitters in the 376000 games played in major leagues. Seems to me that's pretty special.

7/16/24                                                                                                                                                                                        Will someone on the "White House Staff " please show Pres Biden some of the videos over the past three weeks (including the bulls' eye statement) that he has made. maybe he will acknowledge his part in the rhetoric that preceded the assassination attempt; and not put the onus on everyone but himself'; Their leader.

7/12/24                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    So Mr. Clooney (the actor) announces the other day (in an op-ed) that President Biden is not the person he knew from 2010. He states he has seen his abilities diminishing the last few years; I paraphrase. Yet he's been campaigning for him to the extent of a giant money raising show, where he and Pres' Obama and Clinton appeared on stage with him, laughing and hugging, a great show in front of a massive crowd. In the end they raised $23 million. Was this the man he now says is not competent to finish his time in office.                                                                                                                                                I have a lot of questions. if Mr.  Clooney knew these things all the while why would he collect $23 million for a man he knew wasn't able to do the job?  #2 are the networks (who have also turned on the president) in the same situation, hiding what they knew while they lauded him these past three years. Mr. President with friends like this, I think Mr. Trump might not be your #1 concern.

I can't believe that these two are what we're left with after all these months of politics. EMBARASSING!!!

6/27/24                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Politics:  Brian Slodysko (AP)   6/27/24                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Officials, board members and investors on First Solar, the largest maker of solar panels, donated at least $1.5 million to Bidens successful 2020 bid for the White House. After he won the company spent $2.8 million more lobbying his administration and Congress. Since then, First Solar's price has doubled thanks to new federal subsidies that could be worth up to $10 billion over a decade. The success has delivered a massive windfall to a small group of Democratic donors who invested heavily in the company.                                                                                                                                                                                                   THE LEADER HERALD (6/26/24)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     No wonder the Republicans want back in.

PS in other political news, a Manhattan Judge has altered Trumps gag order letting him talk about witnesses, jury after hush money conviction. Just what we need.

The strangers at the polling place have no idea of who I am. Isn't it their job to document who's voting/They do require me to sign next to my name in a official looking book.
