To get started on this new wave of communication, I would like to warn anyone who finds us on this site; I'm in my 9th decade of my life, so some comments might be slanted to a certain age group who might have some common experiences. This is not what I intend to do. I hope to find some commonsense answers or responses to some of the items we hear, see or read every day. the items that make me talk back to a tv or radio or read out loud to my wife. My wife [ together for 46yrs] is probably one of the main reasons for my trying this. I'm sure her days and nights will be a lot quieter.                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Not all topics [to some] will not seem to be very important in this new world of communication, for example my latest problem MY NEWSPAPER! For over 70 years I've been able to read a newspaper every day; at breakfast-on the train to work-on the porch or in the afternoon-for men mainly in a certain room in the house, I learned how to read with the help of a newspaper. No equipment necessary. It helped me to speak English, learn about life. Where I was brought up your father and grandfather would be sitting on the stoop after diner and send me to pick up the early addition that came out the night before. History /Sports/ politics/movie listings/advertisements of all sorts, all in one sitting. Well as of Feb 26, 2024, I was informed I will no longer receive my by paper. Reason being the paper was absorbed by a bigger paper and delivery to my area is not available with the new company. Of course, it was a financial decision I'm sure the cost of that paper person who delivered it was an amount that would have ruined their take over.
